Spring driven personal electricity generator

Designer Satoshi Yanagisawa, based in Farnham, United Kingdom has created a concept personal electricity generator in a move to reduce our impact on the environment.

The Cyclus generator is a hand held, spring driven personal electricity generator. By twisting the bottom component of the device an inner spring will constantly generate rotation energy. This twisting drives the upper located DC motor to produce around 6.6V and 3W or 30 minutes of talk time on a mobile phone.

The designer considers his product to have potential in developing communities who have increasing energy needs for lighting and telecommunication, and that Cyclus's s simple construction which will make it durable and cost effective.
